In a significant move to bolster its presence in the Indian beverage market, Reliance Consumer Products Limited (RCPL), the FMCG arm of Reliance Industries, has announced the establishment of Campa Cola's first manufacturing plant in Begusarai, Bihar, with an investment of ₹1,000 crore.
This strategic investment aligns with RCPL's broader plan to expand its beverage portfolio and strengthen its distribution network across India. The upcoming facility in Begusarai is expected to be a state-of-the-art manufacturing unit, contributing to the local economy by creating employment opportunities and supporting ancillary industries.
The decision to set up the plant in Bihar underscores the state's growing appeal as an investment destination. Recent developments, such as the inauguration of a ₹550 crore soft drink bottling plant in Begusarai by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, highlight the state's commitment to fostering industrial growth. The plant, established by Varun Beverages Limited, has already generated significant employment opportunities, both directly and indirectly.
Bihar's proactive approach to attracting investments is evident from the record ₹1.8 lakh crore worth of investment proposals received during the 'Bihar Business Connect' 2024 summit. Major industrial houses, including the Adani Group and Sun Petrochemicals, have expressed interest in various sectors, ranging from renewable energy to food processing.
RCPL's investment in Begusarai is poised to further enhance the state's industrial landscape, providing a boost to local employment and contributing to the region's economic development. As RCPL aims to achieve a revenue target of ₹5,000 crore in the current financial year, the establishment of the Campa Cola plant in Bihar marks a significant milestone in its growth trajectory.
This development not only signifies the revival of the iconic Campa Cola brand but also reflects the evolving industrial ecosystem of Bihar, positioning the state as a burgeoning hub for manufacturing and investment in India.
